Welcome To Sweden's Waterfront Capital

Dear Colleagues,

Stockholm, the home of the 19th Human Proteome Organization World Congress, awaits you this October 18 - 22, 2020 to celebrate the launch of the collaborative Human Proteome Project blueprint and to gain insight on this year's official congress theme, Clinical Proteomics for the Benefit of Patients.

Located where the Baltic Sea meets Lake Malaren, Sweden's waterfront capital has as little as six hours of daylight in the winters and as much as eighteen hours of sun in the summers. The capital city's 73 square miles stretch over islands, hills, encompassing modern Scandinavian designs and cobblestone streets that look straight out of a fairy tale. It is also known as the capital of cool, with tantalizing coffee culture, award-winning design, beautiful buildings, outstanding restaurants, and effortless, natural beauty that makes this city an obvious travel choice.

Surround yourself with a welcoming, creative atmosphere, scenic views and progressive popular culture during the HUPO 2020 World Congress. For all things related to #HUPO2020, travelling know-how, transportation options, fun facts and insider tips on what to check out, visit our official congress website

Experience The World's Longest Art Gallery

Whether you are planning your international flight or train travel to the HUPO 2020 World Congress, you will find plenty of easy, accessible travel options to Stockholm. During your stay, you will be pleasantly surprised to cycle around and explore – especially in the summer and early fall. Bike lanes cover the entirety of the city and are well marked and efficient. Stockholm's Old Town, or Gamla Stan, remains one of the best preserved historic districts in Europe – partially due to the fact that its cobblestone streets are reserved for pedestrians only. All in all, travelling to and from, and all around Stockholm will be an efficient, accessible experience. Read More

Fun Fact: Did you know that the metro system is often referred to as "the world's longest art gallery"?
