Dr. Jau-Song Yu is a Professor of Graduate Institute of Biomedical Sciences, College of Medicine, Chang Gung University (CGU) and the Director of Molecular Medicine Research Center, CGU. He received B.S. degree in chemistry in 1984 from National Chen Kong University, Taiwan, and Ph.D. degree in life sciences in 1989 from the Institute of Life Sciences, National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, where he was also involved in a post-doctoral research at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences for 2.5 years. He got solid training in the identification and characterization of novel protein kinases and phosphatases from mammalian tissues in this period. In 1994, he was recruited by CGU, where he established CGU’s Proteomics Core in 2002. In the past 18 years, Dr. Yu’s research program focuses on the development of MS-based biomarker pipeline, commercialization of clinically applicable biomarker assays and multi-omics analysis of selected cancer types. He has published >180 articles in the field of cellular signaling, proteomics and molecular medicine, and engaged in several cancer biomarker-related patents, technology transfer and academia-industry collaborations.
